Cardinal Clips is a bite-sized, condensed look at Plattsburgh State Athletics and its programs.

Plattsburgh Cardinals men’s basketball played Cortland, losing 74-78 Dec. 1; No. 6 Oswego, losing 72-101 Dec. 2; and Middlebury College, losing 76-80 in overtime Dec. 6.

Against Cortland, guard Willard Anderson Jr. led the team in scoring with 22. Guard/forward Dylan Trombley scored 17, guard Sasha Vidrini had 13 and guard Kevin Tabb had 11.

Trombley led the team in rebounds, with eight. Tabb and Anderson led in steals with four and three, respectively.

Platts led by 17 with 17 minutes left, but couldn’t finish.

In Oswego, Jeremiah Love-Smith led scoring with 17. Guard Franklin Infante and Tabb had 12 each.

Infante led rebounding with seven, and Tabb assisted four. Tabb, who leads the team in steals with 27, had four on the day.

Oswego significantly out-shot Plattsburgh. Oswego made 13-30 from three, while Plattsburgh shot 4-16.

Back home, Tabb led with 26 points. Smith had 16 and Infante 11.

Anderson was everywhere on defense, recording two blocks and four steals. Four Cardinals had two steals.

The Cards led in points in the paint 26-28, points off turnovers 19-9, fast break points 25-15 and bench points 26-12.

Plattsburgh hosts Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts tomorrow, Dec. 9.
