Former Plattsburgh State student arrested for breaking into two female dorm rooms

PLATTSBURGH – A city man and former Plattsburgh State student was arrested for breaking into two locked female dorm rooms in Whiteface Hall at about 4 a.m. Friday morning, University Police said.

Woon Kheng Tan, 23, was charged twice for trespassing.

Around 1 p.m. Friday, police said a Whiteface hall resident reported that an Asian male broke into her room and tried to kiss her. After stopping him, the resident said the male pulled up his pants and left the room. The male then entered the room a second time but immediately left after the resident shouted at him. Later Friday, a second female resident reported to University Police that a male broke into her locked room but left when she yelled at him.

Students with more information about the incident are advised to call University Police at 564-2022.
