Spreading awareness

In the 1980s, the National Coalition against Sexual Assault created a week dedicated to sexual assault awareness and prevention, set in April. It wasn’t until 2001 that the first Sexual Assault Awareness Month was celebrated. The Plattsburgh State community started the month off to a solid start, including hosting poet and political activist Staceyann Chin, debuting a new “Safe Space” program and continuing the Clothesline Project.
