The Plattsburgh State Cardinals men’s basketball team dropped a triple-digit point total in its win against Vermont State University-Lyndon Nov 26. The last time Plattsburgh scored more than 100 points was Nov. 13, 2018, five years ago. The final score was 102-75. Last weekend’s game came off a win of 73-69 against the Cobleskill Fighting Tigers on Nov 18.

Against VSU-Lyndon, guard Kevin Tabb provided nearly a third of the team’s points with 31. He shot 12-24 from the field and added six rebounds and an assist. Guard Franklin Infante was the second-highest scorer with 17 points. He recorded  6-12 shooting from the field, 1-3 from three, two assists and six boards. Guard Willard Anderson Jr. was the last Cardinal in double-digit scoring with 10 points on 4-8 shooting. Rounding out his stats were three boards and one assist.

Guard Sasha Vidrini, guard/forward Ikechukwu Ezike and guard Matt Kone-Bradshaw tallied eight points apiece. Guard/forward Dylan Trombley scored seven points. Forward Ankush Malhotra and guard/forward Jeremiah Smith each had four points. Tim Thomas had three points and grabbed 14 rebounds, nearly a quarter of the team’s total 59. Center Aidan McGuire rounded out the scorers with two points.

Facing Cobleskill, Tabb was the leading scorer with 17 and close behind him was Trombley with 15. Both recorded six rebounds, a team high on the night. Ikechukwu and Anderson both had 11, and Anderson led the team in assists with four.

The rest of the team’s points came from Thomas with nine, Infante with five, guard Darren Wright with three and Vidrini with two.

The Cardinals will travel to Cortland for its first SUNYAC match of the season today at 7:30 p.m, and its second against the No. 6 Oswego Lakers at 4 p.m.
