The handmade cutout letters spell “Ramadan Mubarak” — an Arabic saying meaning “blessed Ramadan.”
Eleham Mousah, Saran Kaba and Abigail Jarrett unpack supplies. Besides decorations, they brought cookware to cook Iftar, Ramadan dinner. On the tiny blackboard, written in chalk, is “Ramadan Kareem,” or “generous Ramadan.”
