United Soccer Coaches selected Plattsburgh State (5-0-2) as the 17th best team in the country in a new poll Sept. 17, a one-spot drop from last week’s ranking.
The Cards are one of two SUNYAC teams to appear on the list, behind the Cortland Red Dragons (6-1-1), who are ranked 10th.
Plattsburgh is second in the conference in goals for average with three per game, behind Buffalo State (6-0-1), and leads in goals against average with .057 per game.
The Cardinals open conference play tomorrow, Sept. 21, with a home matchup against the Fredonia Blue Devils (4-3-2).
